About Me

Godfrey of Ibelin, a.k.a. "The
Embodiment of Awesomeness"

I'm Ibelin.
Okay, I lied. He's Ibelin - I just borrowed the name.

Anyway, I'm a teenaged person, and my life is rather ordinary; it revolves around church, school, books, taekwondo, more books, family, music and my dreams for the future. Not necessarily in that order.

Church: I'm a Christian. I'm not a particularly good one, I think, because I am afraid to talk to people about God. And sometimes (often) I just wish all the people would disappear off the planet and leave me alone, which is hardly loving my neighbor as myself. I am trying to improve, though, so if you have any Bible questions, PLEASE ask me! Seriously. I need the practice.

School: Right now I'm finishing up my last year of high school and looking forward to college: a sensation of irrepressible hope and optimism mixed with a streak of deep dread and fear. The latter part applies mostly to the money. Money and loans and jobs and salaries and taxes... they scare me to death. Anyway, he part of this school year I will probably be talking about most is Arabic, which is a fun-but-hard language, so far.

Books: I read nonfiction, fantasy, sci-fi, historical fiction, alternate history, action/adventure... almost anything; most of the time I inhabit the YA and history-book sections of the bookstore. Saying I like to read is a bit of an understatement, I believe. I think it's more along the lines of an addiction by now.

Taekwondo: I just tested for my black belt. Like, I-haven't-even-received-the-actual-belt-yet recent. Taekwondo is fun and interesting and energizing and generally awesome. If you get the chance, you should definitely do it.

More Books: I'm an aspiring novelist and, though I have never yet finished a novel, I have several in the works. If you want to read some of my stuff, check out my Figment profile.

Meaning of Loyalty"

Family: I have a rather classic family, composed of Dad, Mom, me, and Younger Brother. I could say more, of course, but I'm going to err on the side of secrecy.

Music: I play piano, I have the radio on at every opportunity, I love to sing, and I think Pandora.com is one of the best internet developments ever. Music = happiness. That is all.

Dreams for the Future: Oh, there are so many. In short, though, I want to change the world. If that statement applies to you too... comment. I need to meet you.

  1. I don't know that I necessarily want to change the world, but like you, I'm an aspiring novelist, "teenaged person," musician, and Christian. And I have the same classic family of Dad, Mom, me, and Younger Brother. As well as an equal sense of secrecy and vagueness. :)

Which colleges did you apply for, by the way? (I've been looking for one with a good writing program... I'm not quite applying yet, but I will be soon enough, so I might as well start planning now.)

    1. I applied for American University, Georgetown, University of Denver, George Mason, and Willamette. I don't think any of those will necessarily help you, though, because I was looking for a good International Studies program, not necessarily a writing one. :P
